On May 10th our cat was trapped in a baited trap and released somewhere. The man who trapped her is someone who hates cats and chose to let her out on her own and won't tell anyone, including the police and the lawyers, where he dumped her.
Our cat, Baby, has been with us since she was born, is spayed, and lived with us and her mom and brothers. We bring the cats inside every night, but now and then, one would slip out as Baby did the night he set and baited the trap that got her.
We were originally told by the man who trapped her that she was taken to the Humane Society which proved to be untrue. Next we were told she was dropped off near the Humane Society on Toomey Avenue. Later, one of the man's employees told us they may have taken her to Freedom Park. Another story told to us and the police is that an employee took her to North Wilkesboro, NC to dispose of her.
We understand they claim they didn't hurt her or kill her. Of course, trapping her and putting her out in a strange place away from her home, IS hurting her. We hired a pet tracker who searches to find family pets and hopefully, bring them home. So far, the tracker has found a few very faint scents over near Toomey Avenue, but nothing else.
There are flyers distributed in the Toomey Avenue neighborhood as well as the Freedom Park area. We have answered every call and chased down every lead.
She has now been out on her own for a month, and we need help looking for her and with any other options we may have. The hope for this blog is to spread the word even farther. With the kindness of a stranger who found our post on Craig's List, we
have someone driving around looking for her in Wilkes County near the fake address
the employee gave the Charmeck police dept.
If you have a website, please link to this page; if you are on Facebook or Twitter, please spread the word through those sources. The best way for us to look for her now is by getting the word out there.
Many thanks.....
